You’re in the Right Place If You Are Feeling…
Procrastinate-y:
I know what I need to do…I just can’t seem to make myself do it
Overwhelmed:
I start lots of projects but don’t finish them.
Ready:
When will it be my turn?
Confused:
I don’t even know where to begin.
Stubborn:
I can’t give up yet. Or ever.
Hungry:
Got my nose pressed right up against the glass.
Foggy:
I might be in need of a very kind, loving, compassionate smack upside the head.
If you’ve ever been called…
sensitive, too sensitive, waaaaay too sensitive, weird, artsy, melodramatic, a big ol’ drama queen, psychic, unique, odd, old-fashioned, eccentric, misguided, special, tolerant of ambiguity, optimistic, viciously self critical, expressive, inventive, a pollyanna, misunderstood, different, deluded, ambitious, contrary, talkative, awake, gifted, diverse, scary, intense, playful, iconoclastic, independent, freaky, unrealistic or just plain crazy…
Then you’ve come to the right place.
Let’s work together.
I founded The Organized Artist Company because I noticed that there were lots of resources out there for business people…but creative people don’t care who’s moved their cheese, you know?
And there’s a bunch of creativity books around, but many of them are about “unleashing your inner artist.” So what about those of us whose inner artist is already plenty outer and plenty unleashed, thank you very much. What do we do?
The Organized Artist Company offers
- books
- workshops
- keynotes
- private consulting
All designed to encourage you to find time to spend on the work you love most.

Samantha,
I love your poem! You got it exactly right. Funny how raising kids and directing are universal!
Elaine
Thank you, Elaine! Here’s to all of those who encourage young people to grow — xoxo Sam.
Love! Your Poem for the Exhuberant — it brought me to this site and I already can tell it was meant to be.
New fan,
Stephanie
Destiny in action for sure! Thank you so much, Stephanie. Enjoy! xoxo Sam.
I signed up for your 365 reasons to write last year. Well, on Day 284, many things clicked and I am enjoying a volcano of creativity that I’ve not had in 6 years. How to stay sane in the midst of these paradigm-shifting events…and not drive my supah~supportive honey up the wall? : )
Well, Ella, you do what any sane volcano-dwelling person would do: get on your fireproof pants and start dancing!
Seriously, just keep surfing the energy. And make sure that at least once per day you let your darling honey know how much you love ’em in whatever way is most meaningful to THEM. Some people like a home-cooked meal, others love a backrub, some like a gift or a love note on the bathroom mirror and I myself am a sucker for a sincere compliment.
Even while 3/4 of your brain is spinning away on your latest genius idea, you can still take a moment to make sure your lover FEELS the love, you know? (Then you can jump right back to work : )
Let me know how it goes, OK? xoxo Sam.
Sam – I’m listening to “Your Creative year” and you need to know this: We can feel the love and affection in your voice, it feels like you are hugging us through all our drama. Thanks for that.
Thank you, Tammy! What a lovely thing to say…I’m quite moved. And YES! BIG HUGS and the occasional thwack upside the head to all of you gorgeous creative creatures. xoox Sam.
Thank you for A Prayer For The Capable. It was very encouraging. It seems no one notices the yearssss of exxxxtra milessss you put in to make sure things run smoothly!! A great many without a thank you or a pay raise!!! Thank you for the paryer, your timely information and advice. God Bless You!! : )
Thank you so much for taking the time to write, Crystal — You totally made my day. And I’m so glad you enjoyed the poem : ) Let me know how it all goes for you, OK? – SSB.

I need help…. I have so much going for me but have wasted so much of my creative energy procrastinating and making excuses.
Please help!

Linda, first of all, you must forgive yourself for whatever’s happened up to now. You’ve been doing the best that you can, even if for a while that “best” has been full of procrastinating and excuses. Believe me – we’ve all had seasons of our lives when that’s the case. So be gentle with yourself, and start working just 15 minutes a day, every single day, on the project that is closest to your heart. Experiment and have fun. If you want a bit more guidance, you might want to grab a copy of my book, “Get It Done: From Procrastination to Creative Genius in 15 Minutes a Day” – http://amzn.to/1giBal5 or at your local bookstore : )
Let me know how it goes, OK? – Sam.
Hi Samantha,
I love your genuine and open approach. I saw your message on Derek Halpern’s site and was intriqued. The video on your website was so inspiring – I’ll definitely take that on.
Just a quick suggestion. I was liking your recent blog but didn’t see a way to share it – would you consider social media share buttons or the option to email at the end of each blog?
Best of luck with your business!!!
Aideen
P.S. I couldn’t get into your free webinar for some reason. I would love to see it sometime so if you can send me on a different link or fix the issue please let me know.
Thank you so much, Aideen! So nice to meet you. And YES – you bring up an excellent point – I’m always so careful to put share buttons on my emails and it’s funny that I’ve completely neglected to have them on my blog : ) I’ll hop on that. And here’s the YouTube link to the webinar: http://youtu.be/BLNuwg_QqI4?t=4m48s — Enjoy! Thanks again. – Sam.
Hi Aideen — GREAT suggestion about the share buttons! I’ve got the team working on that as we speak : )
And here’s the YouTube link to the latest webinar: http://youtu.be/BLNuwg_QqI4?t=4m51s – Enjoy! – Sam.
The short video was power packed. It really spoke to me. Thank you!
Thank you, Linda! – S.
Sam, you are awesome! Your style and heart felt sharing is like a breath of fresh air to me! Thank you from the depths of my heart! I was on the “John Eggen” call you did recently and I have just listened to the teleseminar you gifted us. OMG you speak my language and you speak to how I think and operate more accurately than anyone I’ve heard yet. My friends and family say I’m from another planet. I feel understood by you, for the first time in five years of working within the successful coaching circles. I wish I had found you first! so much gratitude and appreciation, Tracie
Thank you so much for your kind words, Tracie. And for those of you who are interested, here is where to get the free “John Eggen” call that Tracie’s referring to: https://sambennett.infusionsoft.com/app/form/mission-11-12-15 – ENJOY! – S.
Hi Sam….Im reading your book right now but I’m so stuck at the start. I literally don’t know what any projects are or what direction to go in.
Karen – take the pressure off. Your project could be: Discovering My Direction. Try different things out each day until you find something that’s fun. Just start experimenting! Play around! Try anything for 15 minutes and see how it feels. You can do this! – S.
Came across you via the Unmistakable Creative podcast. Enjoyed the interview and your openness.
Thank you so much, Mitch! Welcome : ) I love Srini and the work he’s doing at Unmistakable Creative.
Sam – thank you!!!! I came across your video thanks to Polina Ivanova (connecting to your artistic self) a fellow writer of 365 Life Shifts. May I say I love your energy… I love your clarity in your message… and I love love loved this video… when you said feelings just want to be felt… I got it… wow! so simple… I love your suggestion – 5 min art release… for the inner critic… this may just work! thank you – Sylvie
Thank you so much, Sylvie! I can’t wait to see what happens next. – S.
