Rave Reviews for the Get Your Work Out There Program
“The Get Your Work Out There Program is well worth the money. Sam and Steve are working artists that struggle with the same issues we do and therefore are in the perfect position to help us deal with them, help us overcome them. I am SO grateful I followed my intuition and signed up for this program.”
- Mary Montanye, Colorado“Your suggestion to write my passion for at least 15 minutes a day has play a part in saving my Doctoral thesis (dissertation) and that is a gift I thank you for every day when I receive your quip. In two days I am sending my first draft to my supervisers and six months ago I would sit at my computer each day and rarely type a word. It is amazing how much I can get done in 15 minutes if I am focusing on my passion, whch at present is my thesis.”
- Anne Hiha, New Zealand“You [think you don't] have the time, the money, whatever — Do it anyway!”
- D.D., Northern CA“Get Your Work Out There is fun and moves you forward…I achieved more during these eight weeks with Sam & Steve than in the year before”
- Sabine Konrath, Germany“It was very helpful for me to look at all the things I have put/continue to put in between me and my project. I think the program gave me a big jumpstart and helped me definitely clear out a ton of other things that were in the way. It made me much more realistic about what I’m doing, why it’s important and what is left to do. Steve & Sam are great fun together…[Get Your Work Out There] elevates and energizes your project into something beautiful that deserves honor and attention.”
- Madeleine Eno, author“Get Your Work Out There is a nice mix of general teaching on how to complete your work and get it out there, personal examples from their own lives as artists and discussion. They both have the important (but often rare, unfortunately) ability to deeply listen to what a client/student is saying and zero in on the underlying issue, fear or concern, which they then address with wisdom, humor and compassion.”
- Mary Montanye, Colorado“Get Your Work Out There is worth more than you could possibly even conceive. We really got the show out there in a big way!!! We started out scared and somewhat scarred…we now have the ability to touch thousands.”
- Big Bro George (comedymayhem.com)“During Get Your Work Out There I wrote 1-3 pages every day. I developed a structure for my book – and I found the title. I made a mind-map for my book project including a budget! I didn’t stop and I had fun.”
- Sabine Konrath, Germany“Get Your Work Out There will help you stay on task and will give you the encouragement and tools to help you to move beyond whatever obstacles are keeping you from getting your work out there. Sam and Steve are storehouses of a lot of helpful information. I’m very grateful for this course, which was exactly the right thing at the right time. It has helped me focus on, achieve and celebrate concrete goals and it has given me a process I can continue to use as I embark on new projects”
- Patricia Pearce, www.PatrciaPearce.com (this website was one of the projects she completed during GYWOT!)“During Get Your Work Out There, I had a very big yard sale of all my old crap. Wrote on my book in spite of all my time spent on (above). I feel much more solid, project-wise. I am so grateful for this kick-start – and also grateful for a ton of concepts and analogies around Getting Our Work Out There that I’ve been thinking about and sharing with others…”
- Madeleine Eno, writer“I would recommend Get Your Work Out There Program highly. It’s so great to have support from someone who knows what you are going through and will cheer you on, no matter what. This program is a great confidence booster and has given me the courage to finally take action.”
- Irene Hurdle, artist, Toronto, Canada
Kathy Treny
“Of all my (yet to be) ‘professional’ or should I say ‘artistic’ titles, the closest to my heart would be ‘closet writer’.
I don’t know when I somehow stumbled onto you via the net. But if I knew the when, where and how I’d celebrate ‘our’ anniversary every year! I do the 10 minute (sometimes 15 minute) clean ups. I used to think it was useless. Now when I attack a drawer I look at my watch and say, Kathy it’s 2:05 go for it! It always feels so good when it is done. Even if it is just a tiny spic and span spot in an enormous nuclear disaster area (…my office…). (But I still I can’t decide if it is clutter or collateral…) I’ve also implemented the 15 minute writing routine and wow! it works!!!
I’ve listened to you several times. Lately I heard your shadow goals lecture and today the sunsine goals. THANK YOU for your work. On my note page I wrote ‘I just love your voice and your understanding’! It’s so comforting to listen to you because I can tell you know exactly how I (we) feel. And I’ve been having fun with the tension sentences: I speak loudly in my quiet voice. I’m an invisible writer radiating truth….
Again, just a big thank you. I really appreciate and enjoy your lectures, your (great) ideas and your extremely human heart.”
Thank you,
Kathy (France)

I don’t throw around compliments very often (although maybe I should?) but your words go right to my heart, and there’s probably no other newsletter that I actually take the time to read and – gasp! – let it absorb. You’re real, you’re honest, and you’re dead-on. You have a gift and I am so grateful you choose to share it with strangers like me so freely and willingly. You rock.”

PRAISE FOR “A PRAYER FOR THE CAPABLE”
(NOTE: Because these are snippets of spontaneous, unrequested emails sent in response to the first “By The Way, You Look Really Great Today” poem, I don’t have permission to quote the people involved, which is why they are identified only by their initials. Thanks for understanding – Sam.)
“That is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read! That is positively eerie that I have been feeling lately like “How come we people who show up on time and prepared don’t seem to get the rewards?” I believe the universe rewarded me with these words from you today to remind me that – what I am doing is a REWARD. Thank you for writing this- your friend is very lucky and I am very lucky that you shared it with me. I will share it. But really it is most applicable to ME ME ME.
PS It’s like you looked in my purse too!”
- R. A., Award-Winning Actor/Comedian
“I just wanted to thank you for passing this along. I have forwarded it to several friends, and many have written back, saying things like “this made my day” or “thanks so much for passing this along” and my personal favorite “I felt very tired this morning, but your email consoled my tired body and soul.” Thanks for giving me the chance to do that for them!”
- A. A., Yale Graduate School
“This absolutely made me cry and touched a place in my heart that rarely sees sunlight. Thank you so much.”
- C. G., Executive Coach
“This has made me cry. First, because it is a mistress-piece of a poem, and secondly, I have so few people in my life that this truly describes. With humbleness and joy, I send it back it back to its author.”
- Rev. W.T., Preacher
“It is a beautifully conceived and written piece. Thanks, I will indeed share it.”
- T. A., Best-Selling Author
“I wish I could find better words than amazing and remarkable. But they are truly the best I can come up with right now…This is one of the most moving pieces I’ve every read. Maybe because I decided you were speaking directly to me, and it felt so good to be recognized in this way.
(how did you know I ALWAYS return my shopping carts?)
I was completely tear’ing up while laughing out loud.
You give ordinary everyday words such authority & power.
I can’t wait to share this with my dear ones, who deserve to read this.
I know it will resonate in their souls like it does in mine.
What ever means better than exceptional and beyond extraordinary,
That is you sweet Sam. PS. I also read your work to my sweet mama. She has fallen in love with you and cannot wait to meet you.”
- U.C., Office Manager
“Yeah!!! It’s about time we get some respect. It’s hard work for which we — the capable –have dedicated our lives and suffered many insipid, inane, and asinine snipes from those intractable recalcitrants who, at best, lack imagination and, at worse, procreate.
Seriously, though, thank you for this contribution to those who have sacrificed a lifetime to make a difference. Excellent piece of writing from Sam.”
- O.C., Grandfather
“LOVE this!
and needed it!”
- K.B., Entrepreneur
“Beautiful!!!!”
- A.A., Author and Teacher
“that’s great! is it okay if I pass it on to a few very capable people I know?”
- L.H., Musician and Composer
“That is a really important poem, Samantha. Well done.
I look forward to sharing it with many. Thank you.”

- M.D, Physician’s Assistant
“so who was your muse? I want it to be me.”
- M.W., Government Employee
“Well Sam, You made me cry! Thank you for noticing. And what a great poet/writer you are. To paraphrase William Faulkner’s acceptance speech for the Nobel prize for literature, what makes great literature is whether it touches the human heart. You have done so.”
- W.W., Psychic
“I don’t think we actually know each other but you seem to know me very well! I am a super-duper over-achiever multi-tasking hyphen-user. This is a great Prayer, thank you. My mom put the poem up at her hospital- you’ve gained a fan in NJ.”
~K.A.L., Singer
“This is fantastic!!!”
- S.S., Celebrity Personal Assistant
“Thanks Sam!! That was wonderful and really made my day. I did send it along to some friends – It is my most reliable and quiet friends birthday today so it was very special timing.”
- C.B., USC Professor
“Thank you for saying those words. They are so well said. They certainly capture the feeling that goes along with those of us who try to “keep the boat afloat.” I will share them with others.”
- E.S., Musician, Age 89
“Thank you so much for that. I felt like it was written just for me. Oh, except for the part about the high-fiber bar; I’d be more likely to have a grilled chimichurri-marinated skirt steak sandwich with manchego cheese, heirloom tomatoes and frisee on a rosemary ciabatta roll in my bag. But I’m just just splitting hairs here…
Seriously though, thank you for sharing that with me. It really made me feel good:)”
- B.S., Chef
“Thanks for that. It was a lovely poem. Being the straight man is the toughest, most thankless job on earth, be it in comedy or life.”
- H.S., Television Star
“Good stuff. When you have a prayer for the incapable let me know
”

Testimonials for 365 Reasons To Write
“I also purchased your book – 365 Reasons to Write- and I substitute the word WRITE with DRAW….I have it here in my cubicle and when I’m having those moments where I feel so defeated, I open it up to a random page and absorb the reason that is presented to me……
I have an office job during the day, and at night I am a tattoo apprentice…In order to be a great tattoo artist, you have to draw, draw, and draw some more…and it is amazing to achieve some breakthroughs, but one day I totally felt like quitting…..I felt like I wasn’t going anywhere…I felt so defeated….
That my day job was enough to get me through life because my passion of drawing was diminishing…..and then I opened up your book…and reason #20 was right in front of me – “20) Your rival is writing” is what it said…..of course, in my mind, I read it as, “your rival is tattooing.”
I immediately snapped out of my pity party and remembered my long-term goal.
Well, I am glad to say that those 15 minutes of drawing everyday and my determination have led me to put in my resignation at my day job, and starting next week – I will be full time at the tattoo shop, and considered an official tattoo artist! Wooooooo! I am so excited.
This journey has taken me two years to achieve…..and it all started with the power of 15 minutes…..getting out of my comfort zone….pushing myself…..trusting the process….appreciating time….and looking forward to the next 15 minutes…..I seriously can’t thank you enough Samantha….
Woooooo! I’m excited and scared all at the same time……but all will be good…..I know it will…..because the world needs my art, right?
THANK YOU!”
